For more than twenty years Paco Zanoia owner, founder and curator of the
De Paco's line, has been an ardent and tireless researcher into the history, pedigree lines and genetics of the American Staffordshire Terrier.

He is also recognized worldwide as one of the best breeders of Am Stafs; he was the first, and until now, the only, non-American since 1936 to win the Best of Breed and Best in Show award -- with "Ice" Ch. De Paco XZ Gold Number, a male bred by him at his kennel -- at the A.K.C. Staffordshire Terrier Club of America (S.T.C.A.), 2001 National Specialty in Texas.

In 2009 Paco, always as breeder/owner won again the Best of Breed and Best in Specialty Show with a female named "Goody" Ch. De Paco XZ Hollywood Gold Bolt at the historical Montgomery County and S.T.C.A. National Specialty in Philadelphia.

In 2003, 2004 and 2005, for three consecutive years he won Best in Specialty Show at the annual S.T.C.A. National Specialty with a male in co-ownership with the American breeder Evelyn M. Heath.

His Am Stafs also won the Best of Winners titles at the S.T.C.A. National Specialty in both 1999, 2000 and 2005. Award of Merit in 2001, 2006 and 2009.

Paco Zanoia with bred-owned De Paco Am Stafs, has won the A.K.C. Montgomery and Westminster Shows' B.O.B., B.O.S. & A.O.M..

On several occasions, in different years and using different subjects, both male and female, he has won the F.C.I. World Show Championship (B.O.B. & B.O.S.).
